The Vision
To create a community which is accessible to all who are in
need. To develop and implement programs and
ministries which seek to enable people to move into healthier
lifestyles.
Core Values
We believe that all
people are created and loved by God.
We believe that people have priority
over money, structures, systems
and other institutions.
We must act in ways that
respect the dignity, uniqueness and intrinsic
worth of every person.
We will celebrate the
richness of diversity in all humanity.
Statement of Faith
We affirm the
historic Christian faith as expressed in the Apostle’s creed,
and in particular:
We believe that all
humanity is created in the image of God.
We believe in the
redemptive and reconciliatory work of Jesus Christ.
We believe that
Christians are to be agents of reconciliation and healing, both
individually and socially.
Our Goals
To develop
support systems that are relevant, accessible and safe for the members
of Project417.
To sensitize and involve members of the broader community in developing
vision and skills to facilitate community development within
Project417.
To be a source of information and education for the members (clients,
staff, volunteers) and friends (donors and supporters) of
Project417.
Always seeking balanced ministry between incarnational and social
justice.

Real Change -
Making History
If you are reading this,
then you have a critical role to play in helping the homeless and
street involved people get back on track. In the Greater toronto Area, people like Craig,
who is now enrolled at Ryerson with the dream of being an engineer; or
Charmaine, who is overjoyed to be renting her first room - a room of
her own - exclaiming "the walls are painted bright yellow and
I have my own kitchen". Only you can make these transformations
possible through your donations and time volunteering.
This is more than the
slick make poverty history campaign with a rockstar spokesperson and
white wrist bracelets. By supporting the work of Project417 out on the
street, you promote meaningful development. Real change, not just small
change. Shelters, on their own, don't help people, regardles of whether
they are run by churches or cities. Just "getting into the system"
doesn't help people. Only people really help people. At Project417 our
unique people oriented development strategy does make a difference.
Remember
everything is possible because you give of your time or your money
-
Help us make history.

who were rebuilding the wall and those who carried burdens took
their load with one hand doing the work and the other holding a
weapon..."
